NEW FOR 2008

We are excited about the new changes that are up and coming for the 2008 season.  We have heard that the township is considering us to have our road hard-topped; and we will hope for the best news on that front. The implementation of the new docking system will continue.  The standard cottages are all being equipped with microwaves, so don't be afraid to bring your microwave popcorn!  The biggest up-grade to the resort of course happened this past summer, with the full 18-holes being opened at the golf course.

  FAMOUS FOR FISHING
Starting in 2008 we will be running our own resort-wide fishing contest with seasonal awards.  Trophies will be awarded for the weightiest:  Muskie, Pickerel, Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Perch, Sunfish, Rock bass & Catfish.

We will also be awarding another trophy:  "Famous for Fishing"  The famous for fishing trophy will be awarded to the person who most exemplifies the true nature of the sport.  Every year there is always that story of someone who caught the most fish, and still let the biggest one go.  The man who spent numerous hours of back-breaking work to catch & release a muskier, or the young girl who spent hours and days on the end of the dock patiently waiting, catching pan fish, but really hoping for that big bass.  It could be that guy who spent time in the fish cleaning house helping others clean their fish when his catch was done; or shared his catch with someone who might not have had as good a time out on the lake.  We look forward to awarding all of these trophies to you.

Good Luck!

  A NOTE FROM THE GODFREY'S
We're enjoying the first snowfall of the season at the moment, and it's looking like a great winter might be on its way.  We would like to thank Jayson, Karen & Jennifer for a great job this year; and we look forward to having them back again next summer!

Dad's been busy feeding his birds, and has a beautiful log cabin bird feeder he puts up for the winter that is now enjoying a premium seating for our local feathered friends.  Reservations aren't required, but we do recommend them.  *grin*

Mum's anxiously awaiting a little more snow so she can get out snowmobiling.  She's been helping out at the family dairy farm once a week to give the family a chance to get away for the day.  They might not see that much of her when the trails open for the season though!

Frank is enjoying the slower pace since the hectic work of the summer. The docks are all out, & the water is all shut off for the winter, & with the quick change from warmth to cold it was a fast turnover. *grin* He’s gearing up for the same trail-riding as Mum, but starts his snowmobile season off teaching the local kids a snowmobile safety training course. The kids just love him, & the feeling’s mutual!

Mark is hard at work with his new job as Branch Manager for Torbram Electric. He started in April at his previous branch in Peterborough as their new Manager; and is thoroughly enjoying himself. During the evening hours he is often found outside for his favourite hobby, under the stars with his newest telescope watching the heavens. *smile*

As for me, I'm enjoying re-tooling the web site, and planning some different fun activities for the winter months.  *wink*  Zephyr and I have been blazing some new trails in the back 40; and have enjoyed discovering numerous pheasants, grouse, and even the odd bunny or two!

That's all from the Godfrey Family at the moment.  We hope you all have a wonderful winter, a magical holiday season...and tip a glass to friends & family to celebrate the New Year.  We'll be thinking of you!

Cheers,
Linda, Jack, Frank, Grace & Mark
...Rover & Zephyr too!
